All leaders have to know the communication skills to make them persuasive, believable, optimistic, courageous, confident, humble, optimistic, dedicated, inspirational, empathic, collaborative, respectful, responsible, and motivating others to action by sharing the stage with others for the common good and doing the right thing. This workshop will focus on skills preparing the participant with tools and exercises that will make them effective leaders on the stage of leadership. We will take them on a journey of discovery. Will ask the important questions, What, Who, Where, Why, When, and How are you, as departure points to take the stage of leadership. Will work on effective communication skills that all leaders must master in order for them to be clear on the message that they are delivering by nurturing effective public speaking and stage techniques, using theatre as a metaphor. This will be an interactive session.

William A. Virchis
William A Virchis was born in Mexico City to Roman J. Virchis and Margarita Olvera Virchis, both educators and artists. He graduated from Chula Vista Junior High, Chula Vista High School, Southwestern College, and San Diego State University, and pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Mexico City. He holds an A.A. from Southwestern College and both a B.A. and M.A. from SDSU, along with multiple administrative and technical credentials. Mr. Virchis is CEO of Virco Enterprise and cofounder of Teatro Máscara Mágica, San Diego’s first professional bilingual multicultural Latino theater company. He served as the inaugural Visual and Performing Arts Director for the Sweetwater Union High School District. With a 50-year career spanning over 250 productions, he has received more than 100 national and international honors and is a five-time Hall of Fame inductee. A leader in the Chicano movement and Latin American theater, he continues to advance culturally impactful productions worldwide.

Isabela R. Leon
Ms. Leon has assisted Mr. Virchis for 38 years, including theatrical productions with Virco Enterprises and Teatro Mascara Magica as an actress, costume mistress, and as technician, program designer. She has assisted with workshops and motivational speeches. She has served as a substitute teacher with ROP and Career Tech Education in Chula Vista, California.
