Student Voices, Student Power: Leadership Lessons From the Next Generation
Youth Leadership & Civic Engagement
Latino youth across California are stepping forward as leaders, advocates, and changemakers within their schools and communities. This interactive panel highlights the voices and lived experiences of student leaders who are actively shaping their campuses through service, leadership, and civic engagement. Moderated by Superintendent Dr. Zandra Jo Galván of the Salinas Union High School District, the session will explore how young people discover their voice and grow into leaders within their schools and communities. Student panelists will reflect on their personal journeys, sharing the moments, challenges, and opportunities that helped shape their confidence, identity, and commitment to making a difference. Participants will gain insight into the lessons students are learning about leadership, community responsibility, and civic engagement, and how schools and communities can better support the next generation of Latino leaders.
