In this panel, Aracely Campa Ramirez, Sr. Director of Government Relations at California Life Sciences, will explore the critical role of advocacy and cross-sector partnerships in advancing health equity across California. Drawing on her experience at the intersection of policy, industry, and community engagement, she will highlight how collaborative efforts between the life sciences sector, policymakers, and community-based organizations can drive meaningful and lasting change. The discussion will emphasize the importance of culturally responsive policymaking, equitable access to innovation, and sustained investment in underserved communities. Attendees will gain insight into how strategic advocacy translates into tangible policy outcomes that improve health access and outcomes, particularly for historically underrepresented populations. This session will underscore the collective responsibility—and opportunity—to shape a more inclusive and equitable healthcare future through informed leadership and partnership.

Aracely Campa Ramirez

Aracely Campa Ramirez is the Senior Director of State Government Relations for California Life Sciences (CLS), where she leads state advocacy efforts on behalf of one of California’s most innovative and impactful industries. She brings nearly two decades of experience navigating California’s legislative, administrative, and regulatory landscape. Ms. Campa Ramirez has served under two gubernatorial administrations, including under Governor Gavin Newsom as Chief Deputy Director at the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), where she advanced statewide economic development initiatives, and under Governor Jerry Brown as part of her deep administrative and regulatory experience. Her Capitol experience includes serving as Chief of Staff to State Senator Anna Caballero, as well as Capitol Director for State Senator Ben Hueso, along with holding several senior legislative roles in the State Assembly. Ms. Campa Ramirez holds a Master of Public Policy and Administration from California State University, Sacramento, and lives in Sacramento with her husband and children.
